Daniel Shapero brings extensive internal experience to the role, having joined LinkedIn in 2008. Prior to this appointment, he served as Chief Operating Officer, where he oversaw global sales, support, operations, and marketing teams. His previous tenure as VP of Products provided him with a comprehensive understanding of platform development. Coupled with his background as a consultant at Bain & Company and his education at Harvard Business School, Shapero possesses a strong synthesis of product strategy and corporate operations, making him uniquely equipped to lead this technological shift.

Organizational Realignment Around AI 

The appointment of Shapero is widely viewed as a strategic effort to position LinkedIn at the center of Microsoft's broader AI initiatives. Boasting over 1.3 billion members and accounting for approximately 6.3% of Microsoft's annual revenue in 2025, the platform is highly strategic.

Following this immediate transition, former CEO Ryan Roslansky will shift to a new role within Microsoft, focusing heavily on Office and AI integrations. Concurrently, Mohak Shroff has been appointed as President of Platforms & Digital Work.
